Yesterday November 7th was day one at the European Intellectual Property (IP) Forum 2019. The forum which was held at the Munich Airport Marriott Hotel was insightful! About 100 participants from Europe, America, South Africa and of course West Africa! I was very excited to meet two delegates from ARIPO! My training with the US CLDP and IP Panorama and of course experience in drafting the IP Policy of Ghana paid off! Presentations were on Intellectual Property inventions, prosecutions, strategies, enforcement, licensing and valuation. Also, product protection with optical fingerprint and some standardized technology were introduced to us. My favorite of the day was EU & US Design Protection, IP strategies among businesses and fighting piracy in online video. Other presentations included EC policy on technology licensing, how to value IP and challenges and opportunities of Litigation funding. The frequent coffee breaks and good variety of food made the forum enjoyable. I also got the opportunity to have business meetings to introduce GHMusic Publishing to some companies. Looking forward to day two.
